Q: What are the ages of the campers?
A: We are currently registering campers entering Kindergarten through the 6th grade. However, should there be enough demand for older or younger camper, we will consider opening up new units.

Q: Where is the camp located?
A: Camp will be held on the grounds of Temple Sinai, 73251 Hovley Lane in Palm Desert. We will be utilizing the school rooms in addition to their large youth space. This was a most comfortable space for last year's program and we look forward to utilizing this location again this year.

Q: Where will the swim program take place?
A: The swim program will be held at the Palm Springs Leisure Center located just minutes from the camp location.
Q: Do you have to be Jewish to attend Camp Desert Star?
A: No. Camp Desert Star is open to everyone in the community. However, Jewish programming including Israeli dancing, songs, and grace after meals are regular parts of camp.
Q: I'd like to send my child to camp, but  I just can't afford it.
Is there anything I can do?
A: A limited amount of need based 50% scholarships are available. We do believe that no child should be left out of a great camp experience for financial reason. Please email us at ifno@campdesertstar.org for more information.
Q: Who is the director of the camp?
A: Our camp director is Laura Gould, who has over twenty years of Jewish camping experience.  Ms. Gould is the Director of the Jewish Community School of the Desert.

Q: Will there be an open house?
A: Yes. Please join us on Tuesday, May 24, from 6-8:30pm at the Jewish Community School of the Desert for a tour of the facilities, a question/answer session, and a chance to meet the director and some staff.
